About The Artist
Mary Mirabito prefers to work outdoors, painting on location, where the sunlight splashes across the scene and creates shadows that are all part of her design.
Her work and style is impressionistic. She paints directly from nature itself; yet it is her own vision. “When I paint,” she says, “I am expressing my appreciation for form and color in the sunlight.
I need to be on location where I can see the changing effects of light and shadow.” Mary divides her time between her homes in Hingham, MA and Palm Beach, Fl. Both locations offer limitless views of coastal and garden scenes for which Mary’s paintings are recognized.
She is an active member of several prestigious art associations where she participates in the annual exhibits and “Fresh Paint” events of:
South Shore Art Association, Cohasset, MA
Plein Air Palm Beach, Palm Beach, FL
POSH Art Gallery, Delray Beach, FL

Mary has both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Art Education from the University of Buffalo, NY and Post-Graduate level studies at Massachusetts College of Art. In 1998 Mary completed a successful 30 year career as an art teacher to high school students in the Boston Public Schools. She then started to concentrate on a lifetime dream of traveling to paint throughout the U.S. and Europe. She now travels frequently to Italy, France and England and always with her art easel in tow!
Mary's art work has been exhibited throughout New England, in galleries and juried shows. Her paintings hang in the permanent collections of large corporations, institutions, banks and private homes throughout the United States including: W.H. Brewster Co., Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Ocean Spray Corp., Avon Box Corp., and Massachusetts State House, etc.
